1010 - Magical Equilibrium Between Writing and Watch

The popular Swiss luxury brand Piaget takes serious actions in its expansion throughout the United States. Recently the company opened a new corner store entitled The Shoppers, which can be found at The Palazzo, a new luxury retail center located in Las Vegas."We've had our eye on Las Vegas for quite some time, but everything had to be just right,"Les Cabinotiers Skeleton Minute Repeater - Watch's Peculiarity The Les Cabinotiers Skeleton Minute Repeater watch is a genuine work of art. The timekeeping wonder appeared due to horological achievement and expertise of Vacheron Constantin's watchmakers. The timepiece is powered by the most sophisticated Vacheron Constantin movement and features the finest skeleton, both distinctions united under the platinum case. The lower pitch is for the hours, the higher one for the minutes. outlined Piaget North America President, Larry Boland, in a press release that was introduced on Thursday. It features a diamond, a strap decorated with dangling, patent-leather playing cards symbols and unique pair of dice enriched with 1,056 brilliant-cut rubies along with 1,060 brilliant-cut diamonds. The actual clock is found in the place of the 6th side. The official date of the opening was January 17. The boutique is available for its customers seven days a week and it provides private appointments as well as other services offered exclusively for VIP/celebrity.

Flavio is also very enthusiastic regarding the timepieces that feature the name Atlantic. Undoubtedly both, Atlantic Watch and the world and European champion, represent a great team, both ideally matching each other. Both have the same goal, that is: setting the sails, putting to see and staying a successful course. The Chief Executive Office of Atlantic Watch SA, Jurg Bohne, expressed his confidence regarding Flavio as an ideal ambassador of the company and its timepieces: "For us, he’s an exceptional talent with charisma, and he identifies with our watches. Like Flavio Marazzi, we are committed to top-tier performance and dedicated to giving our best at all times. We are thrilled that he is giving our brand global resonance."Timepieces take a special place among politicians' accessories. It is hard to assume the exact motives which ruled Prime Minister that day. Perhaps the fact that victor Zagaevsky imparted Putin that both his two sons were serving in the Russian army. And thereby arousing some patriotic feelings in the former President.(But it is not ruled out that Putin fingered such a generous jest simply to get rid of black Blancpain and thus to emphasize his devotion to the favorite brand - swiss and luxury Patek Philippe.) Millenary Pianoforte Watch includes skeleton hands with blackened hours and minutes and centre seconds hand that has the color of wine. Strap: the timepiece is available with a black hand-sewn crocodile leather strap, having an AP folding clasp that is made in 18-carat white gold.

Swatch Internet Time

I know from reading my server logs that a lot of people come to Watch Report toread the poston the new TissotNavigator 3000. For all you Tissot fans out there, here's the rest ofthe story:According to a supplier for Jared, the Tissot Navigator 3000 will be available in late April of this year. It willretail for $695, though it should be available at a 10-30% discount, putting theactual price of the watch anywhere from $486.50 to $625.50 (I'm guessing it willactually go for around $500). I was also told that Jared would be the first inthe US to sell the Tissot Navigator 3000. On the one hand, I'm skeptical sinceI was told this by a Jared supplier, however on the other hand, they have the bestselection of Tissot that I know of, so it sounds plausible. For more information on the Tissot Navigator 3000, see TissotAnnounces New Tactile Watch: The Navigator 3000.I typically go for watches with stainless steel or titanium bracelets, butthe black rubber strap and the black dial of the T-Touch make a greatcombination.I stayed in a hotel right on Union Square (the historic WestinSt. Francis, forthose of you familiar with the area) for about a week while I waited for my householdgoods to arrive, and I found a little watch store nearby that had a SeikoSportura SLQ017in the window. The SLQ017 is a limited edition Kinetic chronographwhich is one of the most unusual and striking chronographs I've ever seen. Seikoonly made 1,500 of them, and only 400 of those made their way to the US, so I wasthrilled to come across one in person. I visited the SLQ017 a few times duringmy stay on Union Square, tried it on a few times, and even started negotiatingon the price, but in the end, in the spirit of trying to control moving costs,I ended up not buying it.

Review of the HighGear Summit Watch

I didn't even know that the HighGear Summit watch existed until I discovered thisreview over on WetDawg. If you're in the market for an outdoor sports watch withan altimeter, barometer, thermometer, and compass, this looks like it might be aviable and  affordable option. The HighGear Summit sells for about $149,and appears to be available at most stores specializing in outdoor and hiking equipment. The author makes the following observations about his new toy:The Summit is a big sucker. As sure as if you’re walking a five leggeddog, someone is going to remark on it. The alarm is handy, of course.I would have liked a count down alarm as well.Check out thefull article for more details. The review caught my eye because I am a big fanof the Tissot T-Touch which offers a great deal of the same functionality (checkout my Tissot T-Touchreview for details), but in a much smaller and more attractive package, and witha scratch-proof sapphire crystal. I worea T-Touch when I first moved to San Francisco about two months ago to help meget my bearing when walking the city, but that's about as outdoorsy as I get thesedays. I also recently received a similar new stainless steel and titaniumCasio Protrek which I will be reviewing shortly. I still need to put it through itspaces, but at first glance, it appears to be a nice combination of functionality, affordably, and visual appeal (compared to the old Protreks and Pathfinders).Seven out of ten people you meet willpoint out the big watch on your wrist.

Fossil Wrist PDA Redux

Hopefully Fossil is serious this time about their new Wrist PDA: a full Palm OS(4.1) built right into a watch. Actually, I'm sure they were quiteserious the first time they announced the Wrist PDA and took "Bestof COMDEX"in the mobile devices category nearly two years, though it seems circumstances conspired against Fossil, and the watch disappearedfrom their site as suddenly as it had appeared. I believe Amazon had even startedtaking pre-orders, though presumably, everyone's money was safely returned, and I'm sure there were no hard feelings. Don't worry, Fossil -- I'm not writing this to accuse you of false promises andvaporware. On the contrary. I'm writing this to congratulate you ongetting the project back on track. I believe it's in everyone's best interest thatbleeding edge devices like the Wrist PDA not be released until they are ready, and I also believe this product is no less impressive and relevant now than itwas when it was originally announced. In other words, I'm still dying to have one. Features and specs:Palm OS 4.1 (English).Motorola Dragonball VZ 33MHz. Not much by today's PDA standards, but prettydarn impressive for a watch.2MB of RAM. The first PDA I ever owned was a special "upgraded" version with4MB. Again, very impressive for a watch.16 level grayscale with backlight; 160x160 pixels.Address Book, Date Book, To Do List, Memo Pad, Calculator, and even the time.

The Bell & Ross 01 Instrument Collection

The GW-300 is equipped with an internal antenna which receives timecalibration signals transmitted by an atomic clock on Fort Collins, Colorado. That means assuming you live in an area where the radio signal is detectable(most of North America), you never have to set your watch, and it will alwaysbe extremely accurate.World time. Easily check the time in 30 different citiesaround the world (29 time zones). The atomic timekeeping feature also works fairly well, though sometimes it canbe difficult for the watch to pick up a strong enough signal for a long enoughperiod of time that it can calibrate itself. It will attempt to calibrate fourtimes a day (2 a.m., 3 a.m., 4 a.m, and 5 a.m.) since it assumes that you willbe asleep and motionless during one of those four attempts. Actually, the manualrecommends taking the watch off before you go bed and leaving it in a positionwhere it can easily pick up the radio signal, however I have found that whenI am upstairs in my house, the watch will calibrate evenwhile on my wrist just about every night.Time recorder.Auto light. If you often need to see the time in the dark, but might not have both hands free (maybe you carry around your baby forhours in the dark trying to get her to fall asleep), turn on the auto lightfeature, and all you have to do is tilt the watch toward you more than 40degrees, and the backlight will automatically illuminate. Sometimes takesa few tries, but it usually works pretty well.Power saving setting.

Extend the Warranty On Your G

View photo gallery. The Casio GW-300 is solid, practical watch for people who are more interestedin ruggedness and durability than elegance. It's not the last watch you'll everbuy, or the only watch you'll ever need, but if you're looking for a tough, affordabledigital watch, the GW-300 is a good candidate.Features of the GW-300 G-Shock include:Solar powered ("Tough Solar," as Casio calls it). The GW-300has a rechargeable battery and two discreet solar cells at the top and bottomof the face which are used to replenish the battery. That means unlessyou're a hermit and live in a cave, you're watch will never be withoutpower.Atomic timekeeping ("Waveceptor," as Casio callsit). Store up to 30 different "snapshots" ofthe time including month, day, hour, minutes, seconds and the daylight savingsmode by pressing a button. Interesting feature. Use it to record the exacttime an event occurs. Seems useful for people like firefighters, police, etc.Five Alarms. I don't want to get into the specifics of charging times in this review (theyare documented very thoroughly in the manuel), but I will say that the solar-poweredfeature works very well, and as I said before, unless you live in a cave, it'snot something you'll have to worry about. In other words, wearing the GW-300does not mean having to start scheduling daily watch sunnings in order to keepit running. I have found that it keeps sufficiently charged just with day-to-day(or even occasional) use, as long as the power saving function is enabled. Four standard daily alarms, and one "snooze" alarmwhich keeps going off every five minutes until you actually go into alarmmode and disable it (as opposed to just pressing a button and turning itoff). I really like this feature. I've used it keep reminding me it's timeto go to bed.Hourly time signal.Stopwatch. Display range of 23 hours, 59 minutes, and 59.99seconds. Measures elapsed time, split times, and two finish times.Electro-luminescent backlight. Nice and bright, greenishblueish in color.

The one on the left tells you how many times the watch has been turned

View the Orbita Tourbillon photo gallery. The Orbita Tourbillon is the Porsche of watch winders. It's modern, sleek, ***y, and it ain't cheap. But for the enthusiast who wants the best for his watches, the Orbita will keep them running with both style and precision. The Orbita Tourbillon looks a little like a bomb from a Die Hard movie with its exposed circuitry and extremely bright LEDs. The chassis is made from four 10mm thick pieces of glass joined together by clear epoxy. Inside, three circuit boards are screwed in place and support two fantastically bright LEDs, and two stainless steel rollers. On top of the rollers rests the barrels inside of which your well wound and precisely rotated automatic watches are tucked, wrapped snuggly around self-conforming foam cushions. Although the barrels are stainless steel, they are lined with soft and gentle plastic which won't scratch your steel, gold, or platinum bracelets, and the rollers have rubber gaskets for securely and quietly gripping and turning the barrels. The one on the left tells you how many times the watch has been turned, and resets itself automatically at midnight. The LED on the right is actually a highly accurate quartz clock which makes perfect sense as it allows you to calibrate your less accurate automatic watch as you're putting it on in the morning. Bright blue LEDs are soldered below the circuit boards and flash in configurable patterns to draw even more attention to this modern piece of functional industrial art. It's not rocket science, but it's probably a little more complex than the *** face might lead you to expect.Aside from the learning curve, there's quite a lot to like about this watch:The titanium case makes for a very light and comfortable watch that still feels well-made.Scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.Despite all the functions, the dial is still pretty readable.Wonderfully detailed blue and white sub-dial hands.5-band radio reception.100M (330 feet) of water resistance.
